Mu-go (Identity&Typeface)

Well over the last few weeks I’ve been working on a new typeface, working on an 8×8 grid and working with very restricted forms, I’ve been trying to create a typeface to represent “me” and here’s a sneak peak! Eventually it will be used to create an identity for myself! Watch this space!

Funct Letterhead

Following on from the Funt Logo I decided to see what the logo would look like if applied to stationary. So I started with the letter head, heres the front and back!

Funct Logo

Funct was a project I worked on purely for fun, I started with a font called Archer and made subtle changes to the letters and the way they sit together as a word, to create this logo which may seem simple but has had a full overhaul so the letters sit comfortably together.

Obstruct Typeface

Obstruct a block and outline typeface! Undertaken simply as a creative exercise. Although

not perfect and still with a long way to go, this simple exercise is going to become

a fully fledged typeface soon enough,

Module Typeface

The Magnificence of the Mundane

Helvetica Moleskin

As I have a love for all things typographic I couldnt help but have one of these. Its a limited edition Helvetica Moleskin with the swiss cross on the front and a nice wrap around with more helvetica type.

it was a must have.

Module Magazine

contents_freecolour1

Magazine design brief. ongoing work.

This is my current layout set for the contents page of my magazine “module”. The shapes of colour in the background are within the same style as the typeface and this theme will run throughout the magazine. I want to bring new ideas of colour to magazine design not just the colours of the images used but colours choosen by the designer.

Module Magazine Cover

Initial Ideas for Magazine design brief.

This brief is a current major project im working on at this moment. The typeface within this cover is my own a created from smaller parts to create a larger whole which is the definition of “module”.

The name Module came about from researching architectural terms, I couldn’t have anything to specific because I wanted to feature everything to do with architecture within the magazine. “Module” is the name given to a measurement of a diameter of a larger structure to which smaller measurements are called minutes. I thought this was a more board and less specific name to allow the range of articles I wanted within the magazine.
